The Purpose of Coaching
Effective coaching is predicated on an accurate assessment of the individual’s talents and abilities. Most servant leaders, even the most well intentioned ones, only have a general awareness of their talents and very little understanding how best to use those talents to achieve their desired goals and realize their full potential. Additionally most servant leaders are unable to recognize or identify the talents of their fellow servant leaders much less help their leaders become fully engaged.
Transforming Church strategies, techniques and tools, are designed with one clear purpose: to help servant leaders identify both their unique strengths, and the unique strengths of their fellow servant leaders, and to leverage those strengths to achieve their most desired goals.
Every leader should be focused every day on helping their fellow leaders align their self-interests with the interests of the organization to attain both maximum contribution and maximum satisfaction. Transforming Church coaches help leaders mobilize their unique talents to create a fully engaged ministry team that finds deep satisfaction in fulfilling the mission of the organization.
The Coaching Process
Transforming Church’s coaching process includes four steps with each step building on the previous one:
- Assess the individual’s skills and abilities and identify strengths.
- Focus the work on achieving the desired goals of the individual and the organization.
- Introduce and teach new skills and a shared language.
- Develop the leadership capacity of each leader.
